Baby Head Shape Clinic

Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) can develop quickly in the first few months of life when the skull is soft and growing rapidly. Identifying and addressing flat head spots early can prevent the need for helmet therapy later and help ensure optimal head shape development.  To help families get the right support at first sign of a developing flat spot, Milestones Pediatric PT is offering a comprehensive assessment and monitoring program for infants 0-4 months of age. Sensory Superheroes

This new group class is led by our Doctor of Occupational Therapy! It is designed to educate parents and caregivers on identifying sensory versus behavior challenges, how to support your child who is hyper- or hypo- reactive to sensory stimuli, and discover different strategies to utilize at home and in the community for improved sensory and self-regulation.

This 1.5-hour class will involve not only education, resources, and the chance to ask a specialized occupational therapist questions, but also the opportunity for you and your child to create a sensory tool/craft in the clinic together! This month, we will be creating a sensory “firework” bottle for the Fourth of July! By shaking the bottle and watching the materials inside swirl and settle, children (and adults too!) can redirect their focus, regulate overwhelming emotions, and naturally slow their breathing.

This class is ideal for children 5 years old and up!

Cost: $35 per child

Session Date: Tuesday, June 23rd, at 4:30 pm

Event Address: 18161 W 13 Mile Rd Suite C1, Southfield, MI 48076

Bike Riding Class

Balance and Bike is a 4-week pediatric PT class for children ages 7 and older who are developmentally appropriate for training wheels and motivated to learn two-wheel riding.

The class focuses on improving balance, core control, and bike-riding skills through activities that mimic weight shifting and steering. Therapeutic balls, incline/decline surfaces, and rhythmic movements are used to provide progressively challenging balance activities while encouraging postural reactions and coordination. Parents will be given instruction on how to assist their child in mastering the skill of independently riding a bike and strategies to continue practicing safely at home. Parents should plan on bringing comfortable shoes and be ready to run.

Children bring their own bikes with training wheels. Sessions include mounting, dismounting, walking alongside the bike, turning, braking, and safe falling practice on soft mats. Proper bike fit is emphasized, with the child able to sit on the bike with both feet flat on the floor to improve confidence and reduce fear. Training wheels are gradually raised and eventually removed as skills improve!

This class is ideal for children 7 years old and up!

Cost: $200 per child

Session Date: Tuesday July 21st, July 27th, August 4th, August 11th, 2026. 6:30 to 8 pm
